Some words are in a way discarded by search engines to save space or time or both. These are known as “Stop” words. After a page is indexed it is stored on disk space but some words may not make it there to save space, if the objective is to speed search results than these words are simply not referenced when a search engine is scouring the index it rathers looks at the words around the stops.
